The Kentucky Pick-Up Line CD Release

Jul 2nd, 2009

Established in late 2007, The Kentucky Pick-Up Line hit the Central Coast music scene. The singer songwriter Christopher Everett from South Carolina joined forces with such talents as Amanda Baker, from Paso Robles, and Matt Szopinski and Mark Szopinski, both from Los Osos. Baker has been involved in theatrical lead roles here in SLO County since 2008. Recently starring as Patsy Cline in the production "Always, Patsy Cline". She has a great ear for harmonies that create an intricate touch to Everett's songs. Matt Szopinski has been playing guitar for over 10 years. Being highly influenced by Stevie Ray Vaughn, Eric Clapton, and George Harrison, one can imagine the licks and solo capabilities he brings to the table. Mark Szopinski is as versatile as they come, playing bass, harmonica, mandolin and singing back up vocals for the Pick-Up Liners. The 18-year-old Morro Bay graduate won Battle of the Bands as a freshman and seems to have quite the head start as a successful musician. The Kentucky Pick Up Line has had the great privilege playing with talented drummers such as Zach Burns, Paul Frankel and Justin Sears, whom are all featured on the new album Prevent My Disasters.
